History of the Old Coca Cola Plant

The Coca Cola bottling plant was originally built by Mr. J.F. Haigler in 1925, right next to the Crystal Ice House in the heart of downtown Trenton. In 1956 the Florida Coca-Cola Company of Daytona Beach purchased the Trenton operation. Mr. Eudell Parrish, a Trenton native, spent 35 years managing the Coca Cola Plant until its closure in 1975. Mr. Haigler built the brick house located just off SR-26 on the east side of Trenton with some extra bricks he had purchased during construction.
Many of Trenton’s older residents remember moments in their childhood when they looked in the large front window to watch the plants bottling operations and were offered a warm coke by the plant manager. Unbeknownst to anyone at the time the old Coca Cola building would sit vacant for almost 30 years.
In 2003 the old Coca Cola plant was purchased by Mr. & Mrs. Paul & Stephanie Metts. For 16 years they ran a quilt shop and café. They founded the Florida Quilt Trail in 2013, bringing visitors from all parts of the country until its closure in 2019. Unbeknownst to anyone at the time the old Coca Cola building would sit vacant once more for another 3 years.
In 2021 the old Coca Cola plant was purchased by Off the Beet. After Many months of renovations Off the Beet opened its doors on April 1st 2022. Our original menu had just 3 pastas and a handful of pizzas and a couple of entrees. We look forward to continue to grow and change the menu as well as create new changing specials. Thank you -Off The Beet
